NEW HYUNDAI-WIA HEAVY DUTY TURNING CENTRES BOOST MULTI-FACETED LATHE RANGE
Two new turning centres at either end of the capacity range have expanded the comprehensive portfolio of Hyundai-Wia lathes available from exclusive UK distributor T W Ward CNC Machinery (Ward CNC).
Capable of handling 240 mm diameter bar, the 45/37 kW, 700 revs/min spindle L800LMA with 18-ton clamping power is ideal for highly accurate machining in intermittent and heavy-duty cutting applications for medium/large workpieces.
It has maximum turning diameter and length of 920 mm and 3,250 mm, respectively, and a swing over the bed of 1,050 mm.
Axes feed rates are 12 m/min in X (500 mm travel) and Z (3,280 mm travel), and 14 revs/min in the 360deg C axis. Milling tools can be driven at 3,000 revs/min. The machine’s 12-station tool turret can index at 0.4 sec/step. Fanuc CNC (32i or i Series) is standard.
At the other end of the scale – though not the smallest Hyundai-Wia turning centre available - the smaller capacity L160MA turning centre can accommodate bar of 45 mm diameter bar, has a 11/7.5 kW, 6,000 revs/min main spindle, plus a maximum turning diameter and length of 310 mm and 550 mm, respectively. Swing over the bed is 600 mm.
Axes feed rates are 36 m/min in X (220 mm travel) and Z (560 mm travel), and 200 revs/min in the 360deg C axis. Milling tools can be driven at 5,000 revs/min and the 12-station tool turret can index at 0.2 sec. Fanuc i Series CNC is standard.
The new models complement a host of Hyundai-Wia turning machines, including vertical CNC lathes, available from Ward CNC.
