EMO Hanover 2017 - NINE NEW MACHINES HEADLINE FOR HYUNDAI-WIA
Nine new models will be announced by Hyundai-Wia, among the 13 machines on show, adding to the company’s impressive ranges of turning and machining centres.
The three new Y-axis turning centres, two new vertical machining centres – one a five-axis machine – and a new high-speed (60 m/min) horizontal machining centre complement the new KM2600MTTA turning centre, which is billed as ‘a multi-tasking machine’.
All will be available in the UK and Ireland from exclusive distributor T W Ward CNC Machinery Ltd.
The new XF Series five-axis VMC will initially be available in two versions: the 40,000 revs/min XF2000 with 300 mm by 300 mm by 200 mm in X, Y and Z axes, rapid traverse rate of 50 m/min and 200 mm diameter table able to accommodate 15 kg loads; and the 15,000-40,000 revs/min XF6300 with X, Y and Z axes of 650 mm by 600 mm by 500, a rapid traverse rate of 60 m/min and a 630 mm diameter table able to accommodate loads of 600 kg.
The two new KF Series VMCs are the KF4600 and the KF5600: the former with a table of 1,050 mm by 460 mm for 600 kg loads, and X, Y and Z axes travels of 900 mm by 460 mm by 520 mm, respectively, plus 36 m/min rapids and spindle power options extending from 8 kW up to 15 kW.
The KF5600 has a table of 1,250 mm by 560 mm to accommodate loads of 1,000 kg, and its X, Y and Z axes travels of 1,100 mm by 560 mm by 520 mm, respectively (there is an option to increase Z to 635 mm) are complemented by rapid traverse rates of 40 m/min in X and Y, and 36 m/min in Z, while spindle power options are from 8 kW to 20 kW.
The new XH6300 high-speed (60 m/min) horizontal machining centre has twin 630 mm square pallets each able to take 1,500 kg workpieces and X, Y and Z axes travels are 1,050 mm 900 mm by 1,000 mm, respectively. Automatic tool change options extend from 40 as standard up to 348.
Three new models of Y axis turning centres will be on display:
- The L2000 and 3000LY. While both have a maximum swing of 870 mm, the L2000 has a spindle bore of 76 mm and a maximum turning length of 760 mm, while the L3000LY has a spindle bore of 115 mm and can turn up to 1,280 mm long. Spindle speeds on the former are 5,000 revs/min (main spindle) and 6,000 revs/min (sub), while the larger-capacity model has 3,000 revs/min.
- The heavy-duty KL7000LY, with 185 mm spindle bore, has a 1,200 mm swing over the bed and a maximum turning length of 3,250 mm, with spindle speeds of 1,500 revs/min.
- Hyundai-Wia’s showcase of new machines is completed by the multi-tasking KM2600MTTA, a turning centre with 760 mm swing over the bed, a maximum turning length of 1,550 mm, 80 mm spindle bore and 4,000 revs/min available in both and sub-spindles.
