HARTFORD 5BC-X300 – FIVE AXIS MACHINING CENTRE – HIGH EFFICIENCY SOLUTIONS FOR AEROSPACE COMPONENTS
The heart of any machine is often the spindle and head arrangement and the swivel type fork head with +/-240 degrees of C axis swivel and +/-100 degrees of B axis movement which is used on this machine is indeed the heart of the new 5BC-X300 from Hartford, constructed and designed by Hartford to meet the demands of the aerospace market for machining of larger airframe and engine components in difficult to machine materials.
This new double column 5-axis machining centre delivers on both power and versatility to enable machining of complex components whilst maintaining high accuracy and excellent metal removal rates.
Two spindles are available, with a HSK100-12,000rpm spindle being the standard and a HSK-63-15,000rpm spindle being the available option for even higher speed machining, both offering excellent torque characteristics and both spindles being able to be utilised on machine beds ranging from 3 to 6 metres in length and 2.1 metres wide, offering an overall working envelope from 3m x 3m x 1.1m up to 6m x 3m x 1.1m.
Great capacity coupled with the latest developments such as Dynamic Collision Monitoring which monitors the working space within the machine preventing collisions and increasing the level of safety for the operator, Kinematic Opt 48 making re-calibration of all rotary axes a fast and efficient process ensuring the maintenance of stringent accuracy requirements over long running periods and Kinematic Comp, taking volumetric accuracy to a new level.
