Six machines from the Hyundai-Kia range will be represented by various models from compact 2 axis machines to multi axis twin spindle turn/mill centres.

Being demonstrated under power, the SKT 180-TTSY multi-tasking twin spindle turning centre with Y axis has a maximum turning diameter and length of 230 mm and 700 mm, respectively. The 65 mm bar capacity machine has spindle speeds (on both spindles) of 5,000 rev/min and has 2 x 12 station turrets. Travels in X, Z, ZB and Y are 165/190 mm, 700 mm, 720 mm and 100 mm, respectively, and rapid traverse rates in X, Z, ZB and Y are 20 m/min, 40 m/min, 40 m/min and 7.5 m/min, respectively.

Also under power, the SKT 2100 multi-tasking mill/turn centre with Y axis has a maximum turning diameter and length of 240 mm and 530 mm, respectively. This 65 mm bar capacity machine has spindle speeds of 4,000 rev/min (main spindle) and 6,000 rev/min (sub-spindle) and features a 12-tool station turret. Travels in X, Z, ZB and Y are 220 mm, 550 mm, 750 mm and 80 mm, respectively, and rapid traverse rates in X and Z are 36 m/min, 30 m/min in ZB and 10m/min in Y.

The 65 mm bar capacity SKT-200 two-axis lathe with a compact space saving design has a maximum turning diameter and length of 290 mm and 300 mm, respectively, spindle speeds of 4,000 rev/min from a 15 kW motor, X and Z axes travels of 210 mm and 330 mm, respectively, with complementary traverse rates of 36 m/min in both axes.

Continuing the two-axis theme, the SKT-400LC has a maximum turning diameter and length of 630 mm and 2,150 mm, respectively. This 117 mm bar capacity machine has spindle speeds of 2,000 rev/min from the 37 kW motor and X and Z axes travels of 320 mm and 2,200 mm, respectively, with traverse rates of 20 m/min in both axes.

Also from the Hyundai-Kia stable, the heavy cutting SKT-300 two-axis CNC lathe on show has a maximum turning diameter and length of 560 mm and 720 mm, respectively. This 90 mm bar capacity machine has spindle speeds of 2,500 rev/min from the 26 kW motor and X and Z axes travels of 355 mm and 750 mm, respectively, with traverse rates of 20 m/min and 24 m/min in X and Z, respectively. This popular model features a heavy duty geared headstock for high torque characteristics along with solid hardened and ground slideways.

Complementing these will be the Hankook Protec 9NC x 4000 heavy-duty flat bed lathe. This large-capacity machine has a maximum turning diameter and length of 950 mm and 3,845 mm, plus spindle speeds of 630 rev/min from the 30 kW motor. Travels in X and Z are 535 mm and 3,845 mm The 9NC model has a 254 mm spindle bore and front and rear chucks..

Completing Ward CNC's horizontal configuration turning display - and also under power - will be the Hankook VTC-100 3-Axis ram type, high-performance vertical lathe with C-Axis and driven tools. This has a 1,000 mm diameter table and a maximum turning diameter and height of 1,250 mm and 800 mm, respectively. The machine can accommodate workpieces weighing 4,000 Kgs, has a 30/37 kW main motor and an ATC of 24 tools.
